The short version: BA Quest is anonymous by default. We don't ask for your name,
email, or any personal details to play. Your progress is stored on your own device and synced to the
cloud under a random Analyst Code (like BRAVE-OTTER-4F2C) — not your identity.
WHAT WE STORE
Game progress, keyed by your random Analyst Code. The code is the only thing needed to
load your save — keep it private.
Anonymous gameplay events (e.g. a mission cleared) to improve the game. These carry the
code and a one-way hashed form of your IP for abuse protection — never your raw IP.
IF YOU SIGN IN WITH GOOGLE (OPTIONAL)
Signing in with Google is optional and only makes your progress follow you across devices, and lets you
keep up to three separate profiles. By default, when you sign in:
We store only an opaque Google account identifier (a meaningless string) linked to your
Analyst Code(s).
We do not store your email address, name, or profile photo — unless you opt in below.
You can disconnect or delete this link anytime from the 🔑 Analyst Code panel — your local
progress and code stay on your device; only the link is removed.
EMAIL UPDATES (OPT-IN ONLY)
When you sign in, there is an unchecked box: "Email me BABOK cert tips & product updates."
We store your email only if you tick it — it is never taken automatically.
What we store, and why: your email and display name (from Google), so we can send occasional
BABOK certification tips, feature announcements, and study reminders. Legal basis: your consent.
It's separate from your identity. Your email is not used to log you in or key your save — that
stays the opaque identifier + Analyst Code.
Withdraw anytime. Tap Unsubscribe in the 🔑 panel (or the link in any email) and we
delete your stored email. Deleting the Google link removes it too.
We never sell your email or use it for third-party advertising.
YOUR CHOICES
Play fully anonymously — never sign in.
Sign in for cross-device sync without giving your email (leave the box unchecked).
Unsubscribe from emails anytime — your progress is unaffected.
Delete the Google link anytime (removes the account link and any stored email).
Clear your browser storage to remove the local save and code from a device.
